As a self-taught artist, I am at the stage when I am still learning; experimenting, exploring and hence evolving what will someday becomes my style.
Not having studied art formally has not taken away my intuitive passion for painting and expressing myself through art. If asked to comment on my inspiration, it would undoubtedly be nature in all its vibrant, splendidly colorful glory. Not to forget the invincible power of the Supreme one. My canvases strive to reflect this magnificence of creation and creative forces through the use of bold hues and strong strokes.
The journey of conceptualizing stems from deep introspection for me. Concepts, colors and shapes take form once they are internalized and associated with the meditative musings of my mind. Other conscious influences on both-my mind and the matter of my art- come from my extensive travel escapades and avid reading that in turn triggers the power of imagination.
I believe the adage that it is not the end but the journey that matters the most. To find niche for myself as an artist is certainly a goal I will achieve in the near future but for now this aesthetic expedition is throwing up exciting and stimulating opportunities of self-realization for me and I am enjoying every moment of it. I hope the canvases selected for this exhibition will help other see a glimpse of me; as a free spirited, self-taught art aficionado.
